With <\/span>BRX x EST RX Round 4<\/b> just around the corner, we’re introducing the drivers currently leading the championship battles across the Baltic Rallycross Championship.<\/span><\/p>\n

Our first feature takes us to Lithuania, where <\/span>Lukas Sidabras<\/b> arrives at Raassilla RX as the current <\/span>BMW RX3000 championship leader<\/b> following last weekend’s BRX round in Lithuania. After a strong start to the season, Sidabras has not only enjoyed consistent pace but also flawless reliability\u2014something every rallycross driver knows is never guaranteed.<\/span><\/p>\n

For Sidabras, however, leading the standings doesn’t change the mindset.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Every year my goal is to fight for the championship. This year is no different.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Three rounds into the season, everything has gone according to plan. With no technical setbacks and solid performances throughout the opening races, he couldn’t be happier with the way the championship has unfolded so far.<\/span><\/p>\n

“I’m very happy with the start of my season. We haven’t had any issues with the car, and now I’m leading the championship. I’ll do my best to keep it that way until the end of the season.”<\/span><\/p>\n

One of the reasons Sidabras enjoys the BMW RX3000 category so much is the close competition. With the cars being closely matched, the outcome is often decided by the driver rather than outright performance.<\/span><\/p>\n

“The cars are very equal, which allows us to have really close racing and gives the drivers a chance to show their skills. And of course, we can’t forget the best part \u2013 BMWs are rear-wheel drive!”<\/span><\/p>\n

While many drivers spend countless hours working on their own race cars, Sidabras is fortunate to have an experienced team around him.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Our mechanics are very strong, so I mainly focus on discussing the setup and finding improvements for the car.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Preparation away from race weekends has also evolved. Much of his training now happens virtually before moving to the real circuit.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Most of my testing is done at home using my simulator, and before every race we have an official test session at the track.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Asked about his favourite circuit in the Baltic Championship, Sidabras admits he prefers tracks with more asphalt than gravel. Choosing just one favourite isn’t easy, though.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Bikernieki is usually where I perform the best, while Vilky\u010diai is my home track. Those two are definitely my favourites.”<\/span><\/p>\n

Although the championship standings are beginning to take shape, Sidabras believes there are still several drivers capable of fighting for victories.<\/span><\/p>\n

And if he had to describe himself as a driver in just three words?<\/span><\/p>\n

“Slow is fast.”<\/b><\/p>\n

A philosophy that has clearly been paying off so far this season.<\/span><\/p>\n

With Raassilla RX hosting the next BRX x EST RX round on <\/span>25 July<\/b>, the championship leader will be looking to extend his advantage as the title fight enters its decisive second half.<\/span><\/p>\n

Enne <\/span>BRX x EST RX hooaja neljandat etappi Raassilla RX rajal<\/b> tutvustame s\u00f5itjaid, kes on k\u00e4imasoleval hooajal Baltikumi meistriv\u00f5istluste tiitliheitluses k\u00f5ige k\u00f5rgematel kohtadel.<\/span><\/p>\n

Intervjuusarja avab <\/span>Leedu s\u00f5itja Lukas Sidabras<\/b>, kes t\u00f5usis p\u00e4rast m\u00f6\u00f6dunud n\u00e4dalavahetusel Vilky\u010diais toimunud BRX etappi <\/span>BMW RX3000 klassi punktitabeli liidriks<\/b>. Hooaja algus on tema jaoks kulgenud peaaegu ideaalselt \u2013 kiirust on jagunud ning tehnilised probleemid on seni \u00f5nneks ringiga m\u00f6\u00f6da k\u00e4inud.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Igal hooajal on minu eesm\u00e4rk v\u00f5idelda meistritiitli nimel. Ka t\u00e4navu ei ole see teisiti.”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Kolm etappi on seljataga ning leedukas tunnistab, et hooaja algusega v\u00f5ib igati rahule j\u00e4\u00e4da. Auto on olnud t\u00f6\u00f6kindel ning see on aidanud koguda v\u00e4\u00e4rtuslikke punkte.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Olen hooaja algusega v\u00e4ga rahul. Meil ei ole autoga olnud \u00fchtegi probleemi ning praegu juhin meistriv\u00f5istlusi. Teen k\u00f5ik endast oleneva, et hooaja l\u00f5puni liidrikohta hoida.”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

BMW RX3000 klassi teeb tema s\u00f5nul eriliseks just v\u00e4ga tasav\u00e4gine konkurents. Kuna autod on v\u00f5imekuselt sarnased, otsustavad tulemuse sageli hoopis s\u00f5itjate oskused.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Autod on v\u00e4ga v\u00f5rdsed ning see v\u00f5imaldab pidada t\u00f5eliselt l\u00e4hedasi v\u00f5idus\u00f5ite, kus saavad maksma s\u00f5itjate oskused. Ja muidugi ei tohi unustada k\u00f5ige olulisemat \u2013 BMW on tagaveoline!”<\/span><\/i> \ud83d\ude04<\/span><\/p>\n

Kuigi paljud rallikrossis\u00f5itjad veedavad lugematuid tunde oma v\u00f5istlusautot ise ehitades ja hooldades, saab Sidabras selles osas tuge toetuda oma meeskonnale.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Meil on v\u00e4ga tugev mehaanikute meeskond. Mina keskendun peamiselt auto seadistuse arutamisele ning v\u00f5imalike uuenduste leidmisele.”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Rajale j\u00f5uab ta enne v\u00f5istlusi k\u00fcll, kuid suur osa ettevalmistusest toimub hoopis kodus simulaatoril.<\/span><\/p>\n

“Enamiku treeningutest teen kodus simulaatoriga. Enne igat v\u00f5istlust saame ka rajal testida.”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Lemmikrada on tal keeruline valida, kuid \u00fcks asi on kindel \u2013 rohkem meeldib talle asfalt kui kruus.<\/span><\/p>\n

“S\u00f5idan paremini radadel, kus on rohkem asfalti. Kui peaksin kaks lemmikut v\u00e4lja tooma, siis need oleksid Bikernieki, kus mul tavaliselt k\u00f5ige paremini l\u00e4heb, ning Vilky\u010diai \u2013 minu kodurada.”<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Ja l\u00f5petuseks k\u00fcsisime, milline oleks tema kui rallikrossis\u00f5itja tunnuslause.<\/span><\/p>\n
