The second round of the Baltic Rallycross Championship took place yesterday in Estonia at the Raassilla RX circuit, bringing together some of the strongest rallycross drivers from across the Baltics. Spectators witnessed intense battles throughout the day as drivers fought for valuable championship points in several highly competitive classes.<\/p>\n
In the Super1600 class, victory went to young Estonian talent Albert Ako Kokk (\u0160koda Fabia), who had claimed second place in the RX4 category at the FIA European Rallycross Championship round in Riga just a week earlier. This season, Kokk joined the Finnish powerhouse SET Promotion, considered one of the most successful rallycross teams in European history, with its drivers having won a total of 11 European championship titles. Lithuanian driver Valdas Miku\u017eis (Renault), who recently finished fourth in the RX3 category of the European Championship, took second place, while Siim Saluri (Renault Twingo) completed the podium in third.<\/p>\n
In the BMW RX3000 category, Sander Roosimaa took the victory, followed by Rene Klesment in second and Gatis Keziks in third.<\/p>\n
The Supercar final was won by Siim S\u00fcndema (Ford Fiesta), ahead of Martin Vatter (Mitsubishi Lancer), while third place went to Valdur Reinsalu (Ford Ka). S\u00fcndema dominated throughout the day, winning every qualifying heat as well as the final. \u201cThere\u2019s a lot of hard work and many sleepless nights behind these results,\u201d he said after the race. \u201cThe start in the final wasn\u2019t perfect, but the starting position helped a lot.\u201d<\/p>\n
In the CrossCar category, the top three positions in the Baltic Championship went to guest drivers. Latvian Roberts Purmalis (Hornet R1) claimed victory, followed by Lithuanian Kernius Sulniskas (Speedcar Wonder) in second and Matas Zavarskis (Hornet R1) in third.<\/p>\n
The Yaris 1000 category podium was entirely occupied by Latvian drivers in both the Estonian and Baltic Championship standings. Jekabs Martinovs took the win, Karlis Matuzonis finished second and Amands Krivenkovs secured third place.<\/p>\n
In the Crosskart Mini category, where no Estonian drivers competed, Lithuanian Kasparas Ka\u017eemekas (P-Tech) took victory ahead of Latvian driver Marta Skusta (EJK) in second and Maians Berzkalns (Speedcar Wonder) in third.<\/p>\n
The Baltic Rallycross Championship continues on July 4\u20135 in Vilky\u010diai, Lithuania.<\/p>\n
